Flicka Golden Crown
Hull 242 · Built 1983 · Annapolis MD
In Flicka Friends
Morris London has photographed Golden Crown (hull #242) for Flicka Friends more than once. The Spring 2015 issue, #63, carried a picture of her waiting out the long winter of 2014-2015 — the kind of image, the caption said, that makes you wish for a warm fire and a hot drink.
Issue #68 (Spring 2020) followed her on a Chesapeake Bay cruise. She anchored off Onancock, Virginia, lay at the dock on Tangier Island — an old waterman's community reachable only by boat or a small airstrip, and losing ground to the Bay every year — and stopped at the City Marina in Yorktown before turning for home on the last day of the trip.

More about Golden Crown
I am the original owner. My late wife and I bought new to cruise on her. We lived in SoCal at the time and visited the factory once a week to watch her being built.
We wound up only living aboard about a year and cruising the Chesapeake but it was magical. She's still a wonderful boat, in great shape, and I still enjoy sailing her as much as ever.
I've simply listed "outboard" for the engine because I have several and which one is hanging on her transom changes from year to year.
She has a Trinka 8 dinghy, also designed by Bingham. I finished it myself from a bare hull.
